MSCONFIG MISSING

My age old machine(pentium 4-1.7GH,Intel 845 motherboard,512 SD RAM with Windows XP SP3)recently refusing to open MSCONFIG .I run comodo Firewall and Avast 4.8 home.I have also performed full scan with Ad Aware 2009,Spybot,bit Defender,Advanced system care,Doctor Alex,EMCO malware destroyer and several others with out any help,All scan reports indicate there is no infection. All the above mentioned software have been updated.?????

!!-The application msconfig might be corrupted or missing. There could  be another reason-the PATH  varialbe might have been changed.Try clicking on start>Run.Type c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSCONFIG.EXE.Check if it runs.If yes, then the variable need to be reset.Press [windows]+[pause].Go to the advanced system properties and look for the system variable.Add an entry for c:\windows\system32\for  PATH variable. If MSCONFIG.EXE  isn't present, repair it using hte windows installation disc.
