Cheap Android Phones aimed at India and China.

Google is looking to expand the offering of the Android OS,and has forceful taken aim at emerging markets,such as india and china,with cheaper handsets catering to the untapped masses.

Andy Rubin,vice president for Engineering at Google,recently commented about the potential of these markets:'the down-market opportunity is about to happen.It's actually quite a revolution".

A part from low cost handsets.Google intends to provides payment gateways for applications developers,allowing them easily accept payments and still things like subscriptions.

Low-cost handsets makers have already noises about their upcoming Android devices,such as Huawei,LG,and Samsung. 

Lemon Mobiles,a relatively recent entrant into the Indian mobiles market,has also announced a low-cost Android 1.6 mobile,called the pi ,which stands for Professional One.In related news,Reliance will also be launching first Android CDMA phones in india -the samsung Galaxy i899.
