Android overtakes iphone

©™Android overtakes i phone

Finally the prediction that one day the Android OS would overtake i phone OS has come true!still,it is more of a testament to the appeal of the i phone, that it has taken dozens of devices by featuring the same Android Operating System to overtake the i Phone OS-which is only offered on three smart phone devices, the i Phone 2G,the i Phone 3g,and the i phone 3GS.

RIM still maintains its position through, and with a share of36% it is clear a head of both Android and i Phone OS.Android is now second in place with a share of28%,while the i phone OS Lags at 21%.

While the News isn' unexpected-in fact it was always a matter of when rather than if-the fact that it has happened so fast is impressive. It
has been less than 2years since the release of the first version of Android, which was used on very few devices. Is is only with the release
of Android 1.5 that the OS started appearing on devices.

In this short history,Android has gone from a few HTC phones to over two dozen phones, from half a dozen manufactures, and with tablet and even net book devices on the way. There is no stopping Android now!

Mozilla shares its vision for Firefox 4

Firefox is one of the most heart-ening of success stories of open source,up there with MySQL and Apache,It has managed to break internet Explorer's synonymy of internet with internet explorer. So when Mozilla shares details of any new version,it is bound to be something exciting.

Of Late, fireFox has Fallen behind in speed with Chrome 4(now 5..no,wait 6!),Safari 4 and Opera 10.5 taking the lead.Being far a head of IE 8 is no consolation, and with IE9 posting slightly better scores in Java Script test than FireFox3.5,Mozilla has reason to Worry.Look, one which makes ample use of Windows Vista and 7's Aero effects.

FireFox 4 will also have some amazing new features such as application tabs(which will work like Chrome pinned tabs),a New addon manager, interigated developer tools and better HTML5 support.

Those wating for 3.7,there is both good news and bad. While FireFox 3.7 will be dropped in favour Fire Fox 4,out-of-process Plugins,One of the most awaited features of 3.7 will come with FireFox3.6.4 due shortly.out of Process Plugins stabilize the browser, ensuring that it doesn't crash even if a Plugin Crashes.

Google Tv Meets Web

Google Tv  Meets Web

Google has finally made its foray from the small screen to the big screen

Google TV is an effort to finally bring the Web to the Tv set,It' certainely not a new idea, but till now web sites have never been designed with TV sets in mind, limiting the usefulness of such devices.

What Google wants to bring to the TV experience,is the power and flexibility of the web,but in a form factor that can really be enjoyed on TV screens. The aim is to make watching your TV a socialexperience, just like web videos.Nowdays we want to watch stuff which has a little more personal relevance, stuff that our friends like and post.

Google TV also brings the power of search to your TV set. With Google TV you can simply search for what you are looking for in the embedded browser, instead fo changing channels.

Google TV will be based on the open-source Android OS with the Google Chrome browser.Google will soon release a TV SDK for developing Android application designed for TV sets, and the Android Market shall hsot such application.Google is encouraging developers to start considering TVs as possible web interfaces for website as well.

Google is also embracing Adobe Flash in their Chrome browser for TVs and set tops, which will feature Adobe Flash player 10.1 with support for hardware accelerated Playback of video content on the web.

To bring this to realisation,Google ahs tied up with sony, which will be making TV sets and Blu-Ray players which include support for Google TV;and Logitech, which will release set-Top boxes for use with current TVs.

Television needed more than just a push up in the resolution of the content, but also the quality and relevance.Google TV Seems to be effort which gives it just the right Push.

Google Developing Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Google Developing Artificial Intelligence (AI)
"The worlds most dominant   online company, with the largest conglomeration of computing power the world has ever seen,      is trying to build  artificial intelligence, and according to [Google CEO] Page it isn’t        that   far away either."

Co-founder Larry Page announced that Google is in the development stages of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and he claims the realization may not be far off.Sci-Fi movies immediately come to mind and initial reactions may be curiosity-piqued-with-incredulity. However, some are very alarmed by this announcement calling into question the wisdom of such a move, in light of the moral and ethical questions and implications this advancement raises.

Yep, you read that right, Google is trying to build real AI. The worlds most dominant online company, with the largest conglomeration of computing power the world has ever seen, is trying to build artificial intelligence, and according to Page it isn’t that far away either. ... true artificial intelligence not only has serious ethical and moral implications, self aware intelligence may also not be controllable, after all it thinks for itself and makes decisions based on that reasoning, as we all do.
